The past year has been particularly gruelling for TV favourite Davina McCall.
In November 2024, the 57-year-old presenter announced that doctors had found a rare colloid cyst in her brain. To avoid tumour growth, she had urgent surgery. And, after some much-needed rest, she made her triumphant return to TV in March. She was later given the all-clear in April.
Since then, the star seems to be focusing on her fitness, as she shared a video of herself participating in the #PowerUpChallenge workout. While this is obviously commendable, some of the comments on the Instagram reel were unkind.
That being said, fans fiercely defended Davina after some nasty posts clogged the comments section.

Fans back Davina in Instagram comments
“Love Davina, but you’re looking very old, sorry,” one wrote. “Just because she is slim doesn’t mean she is healthy inside.”
“Sorry, love, but you look too skinny,” another added. “Be kind to yourself.”
In response to this troll in particular, several fans defended Davina. “You’re the only one who thinks this,” one comment read. “So jog on.”
In response to another commenter that said they didn’t think this user intended to be unkind, an additional fan remarked: “To be kind, stop commenting on other people’s bodies.”
A third troll said they think Davina is “too skinny and doesn’t look healthy”.
The same fan from before continued to fight Davina’s corner in the comments, writing that “no one asked” what they thought. They added: What other people think of another person’s body is irrelevant.”
This evolved into a back-and-forth, with the troll saying: “It’s social media, I’ll say what I like.”
In response, the fan fired back by saying: “You can and did — it only says something about you.”

Davina hits out at online trolls
This isn’t the first time Davina has been targeted because of her weight.
In an Instagram post from May, the Long Lost Family presenter said she found the furore “frustrating” and added that “people feel like they can post these things and have no consequences because they can post whatever they like”.
“I’m a 5ft 6 woman who weighs 61kg. I don’t diet, I exercise, I eat relatively healthily and I enjoy sharing that journey with people. I’m 57 this year and I’m happy with the way that I look, and I feel absolutely [bleep]ing great.”
