Cheryl has FINALLY directly addressed the speculation about her relationship with Liam Payne.

The former X Factor star was asked whether she and Liam are okay while meeting fans at her new Cheryl’s Trust Centre in Newcastle on Tuesday.

And, backing that up, boyfriend Liam, 24, later took to Instagram to share his pride in Cheryl for launching the Cheryl’s Trust Centre.

He said: “Very proud of you! How you find the time to do this I’ll never know. Over many years you’ve put your heart into such a great cause! I hope one day I can do the same.”

Cheryl’s remark and Liam’s message means everyone can stop dwelling on the state of their relationship and focus on Cheryl’s amazing new project.

She was back home in Newcastle today to launch her innovative centre for disadvantaged youths, which aims to help young people build confidence, acquire job skills, find work or set up their own businesses.

Speaking to Press Association, she said: “It’s tough growing up in the North East, especially now the unemployment rate is ridiculous.

“So, if we can help one, two, three, four people a year, let alone thousands or hundreds, get a job or get on their feet with their own business, then I have done more than my fair share.”

Cheryl continued: This is the biggest achievement … of my entire career because it means so much.

“It’s great to win awards and it’s great attending events, but it’s not the same personal feeling.”

On working with the Prince’s Trust, she told BBC Breakfast: “The partnership just felt natural and real. We are the perfect marriage.”

And she said of her teenage years: “If I hadn’t been fortunate enough to get out I don’t know where my life would be right now.

“I want to say anybody, if you’re feeling … vulnerable, sad, lost, the door’s here. You’re more than welcome. We’ll welcome you with open arms … that’s what we’re here for.”

Cheryl’s new centre, in association with The Prince’s Trust, is located on Blandford Square in Newcastle.

It aims to provide support for unemployed young people in the North East, giving them opportunities for training and help finding jobs. The centre hopes to help more than 5,000 people in the next three years.

She said: “It seems like a lifetime since I started talking about opening a centre in Newcastle with The Prince’s Trust. I cannot believe the dream is finally real.

“Getting to this stage hasn’t been easy but we did it. I want to thank every single person and company that has helped me reach this milestone. Without all the support and help along the way I would never have been able to get here.

“My heart if so full of pride, love and hope.”

Cheryl later took to Instagram to tell fans: “My state of the art centre with the Princes trust is finally officially open, it has been years in the making and I am so excited to start helping change lives 🙏🏼 please feel free to call in if you feel like we could help.”

After the centre launched, Cheryl posted on Twitter: “I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me along the way to finally get to the opening of the centre.

“And thank you so much to everyone who came out to support me today. It means the world to me.

“I love seeing all of your faces. Love you loads!”

Cheryl had earlier told BBC Breakfast that speculation about her private life didn’t bother her as she was so focused on the centre.

“Is it frustrating? No it doesn’t bother me at all because my sole focus is on this.

“I’ve waited seven years to finally be here and none of that matters. This is the most important part to me.”
