The Saturdays’ Vanessa White AND Frankie Bridge tipped for the new series of I’m A Celebrity

Perhaps they don't like Mollie King hogging the limelight on Strictly

You know winter’s coming when the news about I’m A Celebrity’s latest cast list starts coming in thick and fast – and this year’s run promises more fireworks than ever before.

Speculation is reaching fever pitch over which celebs will be the latest to head down under for a three-week crash course in creepy crawlies, confrontation and the dreaded public vote.

And of the dozen or so stars that will be taking that long walk down the rope bridge, what are the odds that two of them would have come from the SAME mid-noughties girl group?

Well, pretty low as it happens – as The Saturdays singers Vanessa White and Frankie Bridge are both tipped to enter the jungle this year.

Vanessa is all-but confirmed for the show this year, although ITV bosses are remaining tight lipped as ever on making it official.

It’s hoped that the show could be a springboard for Vanessa to launch her solo music career, which she’s been working on since The Saturdays went on an indefinite hiatus in 2014.

And telly chiefs are keen to sign Frankie Bridge up as well, who would bring a double-whammy of interest to the show.

She was not only a bandmate of Vanessa for six years from 2008, but her footballer hubby Wayne appeared on the show in 2016.

She told the Mirror: “I think now Wayne’s done it and he loved it and he said he would do it again, it kind of makes me feel positive that I would enjoy it.”

However, the 28-year-old admits she’d struggle with the fearsome Bushtucker Trials, especially when it comes to putting unusual or disgusting objects in her mouth.

Other stars hotly tipped to be entering the jungle include former England manager Sam Allardyce, tennis ace Boris Becker and Gogglebox star Sandra Martin.

Sandra quit Gogglebox this year, claiming her contract with the show stopped her doing work for other TV shows, and has her sights set on mega-stardom in the near future.

And she won’t be the first ex-Goggleboxer to make the transition from sofa to I’m A Celebrity – as former couchmate Scarlett Moffatt was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year.

The world of sport could also be represented by ex-England and Liverpool footballer, and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

The fiery Scouser revealed in a social media post that he had been approached to enter the show, although an email to him from his management stated that: “I’m pretty sure it would be impossible with your work schedule.”

Rugby star Ben Cohen could also boost his reality show CV further by appearing in the jungle, having also squeezed into spandex for The Jump and shaken his sequins on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013.

There may also be a second chance to appear for Rebekah Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie, who was lined up to appear in 2016 but pulled out due to pregnancy – and actor Craig Charles, who made it to the jungle in 2014 but had to leave early after a family tragedy meant he took the first flight back to the UK.

I’m A Celebrity will be celebrating its incredible 17th series when it kicks off in mid-November.

It’s hoped that both Ant and Dec will resume hosting duties but Ant, who has been openly struggling with pain-killer addiction is yet to confirm. Fingers crossed, everyone.

Whoever appears in the final line-up, it’s a guarantee that showrunners will be keen to go even bigger and better than last year – which is fine by us!
