Michelle Keegan goes platinum blonde for new Sky TV ad as fans declare ‘she’s just perfection’

The ad features Michelle in costumes inspired by some of Sky and Netflix's most popular TV shows

Actress Michelle Keegan has switched up her signature style with a series of jaw-dropping transformations, including a platinum blonde wig, for a new Sky TV campaign.

The 38-year-old actress is best known for her stunning brunette locks. However, she stunned viewers on Friday morning (October 3) with a dramatic makeover as part of an advert for Sky’s new Essential TV bundle, in collaboration with Netflix.

In the campaign, which invites viewers to “escape to extraordinary”, Michelle channels a host of iconic characters from hit shows, including House of the Dragon, Bridgerton, The Day of the Jackal and Squid Game, each with a full costume and hair transformation to match.

One of her most striking looks saw Michelle donning a long, icy platinum wig and a suit of armour, paying homage to Game of Thrones heroine Daenerys Targaryen.

Embracing the fantasy theme, she declared: “It’s Michelle of House Keegaryen.”

In another elaborate transformation, she wore a towering, powdered blonde wig and a pale blue gown dripping in jewels, clearly inspired by the opulence of Bridgerton. The typically brunette star looked almost unrecognisable.

“It feels like going somewhere new every night,” Michelle quipped in the ad.

Michelle’s hair

While Michelle is rarely seen straying from her signature chocolate brown tresses, this isn’t the first time she’s flirted with blonde.

Back in 2016, she dyed her hair for her role as Tina Moore in the ITV drama Tina & Bobby. The transformation, led by celebrity colourist Vernon Deysel, took two full days and a six-week planning process to perfect.

“She was absolutely lovely,” Vernon told HELLO! at the time. “They wanted the blonde to be quite close to Tina Moore’s hair colour. But I was also aware that I had to make sure it was a colour that would suit Michelle.”

Fans react

After the ad was shared on her Instagram grid, the compliments poured in. “Perfect,” said one fan. “She’d look mint wearing a bin bag to be fair,” said another. “She’s just perfection,” another added.

Fans ‘gutted’ after Ten Pound Poms cancellation

Meanwhile, BBC drama Ten Pound Poms, starring Michelle Keegan, has been cancelled after just two series, and fans aren’t happy.

Michelle, who played nurse Kate Thorne in the post-war period drama, hasn’t spoken out about the show’s axe. However, the news has sparked disappointment online.

The series followed a group of Brits who emigrated to Australia in the 1950s and had developed a loyal Sunday night audience.

In a statement, the BBC said it was “a joy” to bring the story to life.

Fans have since taken to social media to vent their frustration. “Gutted,” one wrote. “I was really looking forward to that coming back.” Another added: “Shame, I liked this a lot.”
