The 40-year-old said during her interview: “I think I possibly underestimated how hard it was going to be.

“I gave it my best shot.”

She also opened up about the “scary” experience of collapsing on the ice during a dress rehearsal two weeks ago, which saw her carried off on a spinal board by medics.

Jane explained she had a lot on her mind at the time and hadn’t been looking after herself properly because she was so busy.

She continued: “We didn’t have much chance to warm up, I was severely dehydrated.

“And just to add insult to injury, it was also the anniversary of my dad’s death that day, so I was feeling quite emotional.”

She also said that she was suffering with “exhaustion” from spreading herself too thinly.

She impressed with her performances each week alongside skating partner Sylvain Longchambon. But her progress wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition as the skating stakes heat up.

Jane praised Sylvain, who is married to her pal and Corrie co-star Samia Longchambon, for helping her through the “amazing journey”.

The star, who is married to actor Robert Beck, revealed the dedicated pair would rehearse as early as 6am to fit in with both of their schedules.

Jane, who plays Leanne Battersby on the cobbles, took a lot on as she continued to film Corrie throughout her DOI stint.
