Bad Sisters on Apple TV+: A stellar Irish cast in a dark comedy crime drama

Bad Sisters has begun on Apple TV+ with two episodes – set in Ireland, the show boasts a great cast and an exciting concept!

Here’s everything you need to know about the show worth signing up to Apple TV+ for alone!

What is Bad Sisters on Apple TV+ about?

The show follows the five Garvey sisters who are closely bound by the early death of their parents and a promise to always protect each other.

But when one of the sisters, Grace, gets involved with a scary and abusive man, what lengths will the Garveys go to in order to protect their sister?

When John Paul, Grace’s partner, is mysteriously found dead, the agents in charge of his life insurance payout are immediately suspicious of the sisters.

As the show takes us six months earlier, are the Garvey sisters guilty of exactly what it seems they are?

With a mix of dark comedy and crime drama, it’s a great concept for an easy binge-watch!

Who is in the cast of Bad Sisters?

Bad Sisters has got a great cast filled with Irish and British talent – you’re sure to recognise a lot of these faces!

Sharon Horgan leads the cast as Eva Garvey and serves as executive producer on the show.

The actress has created and starred in the shows Pulling and Catastrophe.

She’s also recently starred in BBC’s Together and Channel 4’s This Way Up.

Anne-Marie Duff plays Grace in the show, the wife of the suspiciously killed John Paul.

She’s best known as Fiona Gallagher in Shameless which she starred in from 2004 till 2013.

Film fans will recognise her for her roles in Nowhere Boy, Suffragette, Magdelene Sisters, and On Chesil Beach.

She’s recently featured as Erin Wiley in Sex Education and played Susannah in Channel 4’s Suspect.

Eva Birthistle plays Ursula in the Apple TV+ programme.

You might recognise the actress for her role in the Oscar-nominated film Brooklyn alongside Saoirse Ronan.

She’s recently starred in two Netflix shows, Behind Her Eyes and The Last Kingdom.

Eve Hewson plays Becka Garvey, the Irish actress also starred alongside Eva Birthistle in Behind Her Eyes.

The actress is the daughter of U2 singer Bono and is known for her roles in the Tom Hanks film Bridge of Spies and the mini-series The Luminaries.

Sarah Greene stars as the last of the sisters, Bibi Garvey.

The Dublin-born actress has starred in Normal People, Roadkill and Frank of Ireland.

Claes Bang also stars as the murdered John Paul Williams, who you might recognise from the Amazon Prime comedy series The Outlaws.

Other cast members include Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack, Assaad Bouab and newcomer Saise Ní Chuinn.

How many episodes are there and when does it start?

The 10-episode series will debut globally with the first two episodes on Friday, August 19.

This is then followed by one new episode weekly every Friday through October 14.

So those who prefer binge-watching a series will have to wait until October to see the show in full!
