Soap fans have been attempting to decide their least favourite characters from Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks, but is seems there’s too many for there to be a clear winner!
In a Digital Spy forum, which started in 2018, a user wrote: “Your least favourite soap characters and why?”
One responded: “Kate Connor. No explanation needed!”

Another user wrote: “The character that I find completely unwatchable is Gemma in Coronation Street. Her acting is OTT, her scripts are dire.”
A third said: “Martin Fowler. Kinda boring and grumpy. He’s always irritated me since they changed his actor. Though I didn’t really enjoy teenage Martin either.”
A fourth said: “At this moment Beth – Corrie, Nick – Corrie, Mercedes – Hollyoaks, Keanu – EastEnders.”
Another commented: “Gemma, Paul and mother. Tracy, Steve and Amy.”

A sixth said: “I only watch Hollyoaks and I pretty much like all the cast right now but I wouldn’t be sorry to see the back of Mercy, Ste, Sinead and Maxine.”
Another wrote a list of their least favourite characters from different soaps. They said: “From Corrie – David Platt, Mary, Liz, Cathy, Gemma, Ches, Fiz, Eileen, Geoff and Tim.
“I know he’s a little kid but I can’t stand Joseph either.”

They continued: “From Emmerdale – Dan, Kerry, Amy, Tracy, Matty, David, Leyla, Nate and Faith.
“From EastEnders – Jack Branning, Whitney and Stacey.”
Another wrote: “Marlon in Emmerdale. Why? Because he is Marlon in Emmerdale.”
