Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown is reportedly about to exit the soap as Dee-Dee Bailey.
Reports circulated yesterday (Thursday, October 2), that Channique had decided to bow down for her role in order to ‘pursue other projects.’
As the actress now confirms the news on her Instagram, here are four top theories on how Dee-Dee could leave the ITV soap.

One big Coronation Street theory that fans have suggested is that the popular character will die.
With Dee-Dee being such a prominent figure and central to Coronation Street storylines over the last few years, could she be gearing up for an extremely memorable exit that ends with her death?
Being suspicious of Dee-Dee’s new man Ollie, one fan suggested on Reddit: “Ollie will kill Dee-Dee and take the baby. He’s a creep.”
But, does Dee-Dee have a habit of always falling for dangerous men?
2. Leave with Ollie and Laila after James death
A second suggestion is that James Bailey will sadly die. Dee-Dee will then head off with her daughter Laila and her new lover Ollie for a fresh start.
A fan on social media suggested: “Or James is killed off and Dee-Dee leaves with Laila to start fresh somewhere else (maybe with Ollie)…”

With Dee-Dee being a central figure of her family, some Corrie fans are worried that the Baileys won’t survive on the Street without her.

A final suggestion is that a recast of Aggie Bailey will return for her daughter’s final scenes.
Aggie hasn’t been seen for over a year but could she turn up and spark Dee-Dee’s reason for leaving Weatherfield.
Aggie is said to be living in Birmingham with an aunt, could Dee-Dee soon move there to be with her mum?
Taking to X, one viewer shared: “This is why an Aggie recast is so needed.”
