Rita Simons reveals secret ‘facelift’

In 2023, Rita revealed she had undergone a reported £2,000 ‘Cinderella facelift’ and unveiled the results.

Talking to New! magazine, the TV star shared that having the procedure – provided to her by the Harley Street Skin clinic – “helped my confidence so much”.

Don’t make me look like a Kardashian.

She said: “I don’t like it when I feel like I’m starting to get old. I’m not trying to achieve something that isn’t me, I just wanted to turn back a little bit of time. And in photos I’m not thinking about having to hide my jowls anymore.”

According to the Harley Street Skin clinic website, the Cinderella Lift is a non-surgical procedure that is performed over three stages. These include using Botox, biodegradable threads and dermal filler in a bid to lift and tighten targeted skin.

A Cinderella Lift is seen as a less invasive procedure as no recovery time is required.

Rita on reason for facelift

Rita spoke further about her facelift to OK!. She shared: “I’m going public with it because it’s helped my confidence so much. I wasn’t ready to age and my jowls highlighted my scar even more. But I’ve done this for myself, it was purely personal.”

She added: “I said: ‘Don’t make me look like a Kardashian or anything, I just want my jawline a bit more how it was back then.’”

Rita’s hysterectomy

In 2023, Rita revealed that she underwent a hysterectomy after years suffering from “debilitating” periods, which left her struggling to work.

At first, Rita was placed on a mixture of oestrogen and progesterone hormones. However, these only made her feel sicker, so the doctors advised a more shock solution.

Recalling the conversation with her doctor, Rita told OK!: “The doctor said: ‘The only option is to remove everything’.”

Sharing her heartbreak at being unable to have more children because of the operation, she added: “Health comes first.”

She went on: “I feel like it’s all been an attack on my femininity but my good mental health is good for my kids, it’s good for [her partner] Ben.”

Watch Rita on Pilgrimage: The Road Through Portugal on Sunday (July 27) at 10:00am on BBC One.
