Jamie Oliver previously revealed the stern warning he was given by a doctor about his health.
The TV chef has been a regular presence on screens for years and has been instrumental in the widespread changes in children’s eating habits.
However, according to Jamie – who is on Saturday Kitchen today (November 29) – he has had his fair share of health struggles…
Jamie Oliver on doctors’ warning
Earlier this year, Jamie opened up about how being a chef has caused a problem with regard to his waistline.
“I had a little MOT a year and a half ago, and the doctor said: ‘You’ve got to sort out this stuff,'” he told MailOnline.
Jamie added: “I’m paid to eat. I do eat good stuff, but I eat too much of it. I’m greedy, I love it.”
Meanwhile, Jamie also revealed how he managed to lose two stone by being mindful of his diet.
He told Radio Times: “I pushed meat down, pushed veggie up, got more sleep and more movement. I lost 12 kilos [two stone] quite quickly and I didn’t do it through not eating. I ate a lot, more than I used to!”
Jamie’s painful health condition
As well as issues with his weight, Jamie has also he has suffered from a slipped disc in his back.
Speaking to The Times in 2024, Jamie said: “I’ve had four years of three slipped discs. It’s about managing it.
“My job doesn’t allow me not to work,” he said. “If I stop, this whole thing falls apart. I’ve had weeks where I’ve been able to stand for only 40 seconds at a time.”
He also shared how he manages his pain, revealing: “Now if I get a sniff of it, I’m straight to see my doctor and he sticks a bloody great needle in my back.”
