The former agent for Caroline Flack once condemned Prince Harry for sharing “private details” about the star.
The prince opened up on his “tainted” relationship with the late Love Island UK host, in his tell-all memoir, Spare.
Prince Harry and Caroline Flack’s ‘relationship’
Prince Harry met Caroline, who tragically took her own life in 2020 at the age of 40, at a restaurant in 2009.
In Spare, released in 2023, he remembered her as “funny”, “sweet” and “cool”.
However, he detailed how their relationship quickly “set off a frenzy” after they were papped together.
“In a matter of hours, a horde of journalists was camped outside Flack’s parents’ house, her friends’ houses, and her grandmother’s house,” Prince Harry wrote in his book.
He continued: “We kept seeing each other from time to time but we never felt free again. We kept going, I think, because we had a good time together and because we didn’t want to admit defeat at the hands of those imbeciles.”
The prince also touched on the hate Caroline in particular received from the press.

“She was described in one paper as my ‘bit of rough’, because she once worked in a factory or something,” he wrote, adding: “Jesus, I thought, are we really such a country of insufferable snobs?”
However, in the end, the couple decided to call it quits.
“The relationship was tainted, irredeemably, and in the end we decided it wasn’t worth continuing to endure that level of exhaustion. Above all, for her family,” Harry recalled sadly.
He revealed their parting words: “We said goodbye. Goodbye, and good luck.”
Later in the book, the Duke of Sussex also recalled his shock upon learning the tragic news of Caroline’s death.
‘Absolutely gross’
In a lengthy Instagram post, Caroline’s former agent, Alex Mullen, hit out at the duke’s decision to write about the relationship.
“It’s absolutely gross for Prince Harry to reveal such private details about Caroline Flack,” the presenter’s former publicist reportedly said.
“The way in which the press spoke about her at that time and the reason they split are both very sad and it’s disgusting he’s brought up old long forgotten slurs she had to suffer in full view of the public around the world,” he continued.

“Of course Caroline reacted to them with humour and grace but privately she was deeply hurt; just the first of many injustices she didn’t deserve. Harry’s decision to remind all of the terrible things said about her to help sell his appalling book is grotesque.”
Mullen even suggested that Prince Harry should have his royal titles taken away as a result.
