Shirley Ballas reveals she’s seen her boyfriend ONCE since August amid decision to ‘to back off a bit’

She's admitted she no longer wants to marry him

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas has revealed that she has only seen her boyfriend once since August.

The 63-year-old former professional dancer has been in a relationship with 50-year-old actor Danny Taylor for the past five years, following two previous marriages.

However Shirley recently opened up about a change of heart she has towards her relationship, and has now revealed they’ve spent some time apart. Although it doesn’t appear to have affected the strength of their relationship…

Shirley discusses marriage with boyfriend

In a recent interview with Heat magazine, Shirley explained that she no longer wants to marry Danny.

I realised I had to back off a bit.

“I actually told him on Valentine’s Day, while we were having dinner at the Shard. Romantic, right? I was being a bit pushy and I just realised I had to back off a bit and think ‘OK, I don’t need this. I need to not be so co-dependent, I just need to be dependent on myself. As I sit here today, I don’t want to get married,” she concluded.

‘We have a FaceTime relationship’

With it being Strictly season, Shirley is of course a busy lady at the moment – and it seems her boyfriend is an equally busy man.

“He’s currently doing a play called By The Waters of Liverpool, and he’s also got a 13-year-old son,” she shared, before shockingly revealing: “I think I’ve only actually seen him once since my Skyathlon.”

Said Skyathlon took place way back in August. But Shirley appears to be content with their separate lives.

“We talk regularly on the phone, so I suppose you could say we have a good FaceTime relationship. But it works. I’m not interested in getting another boyfriend, and he’s not interested in getting another girlfriend.”
