I’m A Celebrity viewers fume at show for ‘ruining’ elimination result on app

The app pings viewers the result

I’m A Celebrity viewers felt annoyed last night after the show’s app revealed news that Naughty Boy had left before they could watch the show via catch up.

Music producer Naughty Boy became the fourth celebrity (and first male) to be evicted from Gwrych Castle.

Hosts Ant and Dec announced the public vote results live on air for those watching the show on ITV.

The show’s app sent out a push notification of the results before some had time to watch the show on ITV Hub. But this left many viewers feeling angry.

One Twitter user fumed: “So glad the I’m A Celeb app sent me a notification telling me who was out whilst I was watching behind on catch up.”

In addition, a second wrote: “Avoided all social media in order not to have #ImACeleb ruined for me. And the official app goes and sends me a push notification with a line that spoils the result. And tells me who went. Fantastic.”

A third added: “[Bleep] @imacelebrity could you not send notifications through the app when some of us are 20 minutes behind!!”

What did fans say?

Meanwhile, some fans of the show also felt upset that Naughty Boy – real name Shahid Khan – became evicted because of the entertainment he has provided during his time on the ITV reality show.

Many believed Olympic gold medalist Matty Lee or former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin should have left the camp instead.
