I’m A Celeb reveals rare twist for tonight’s Bushtucker Trial

You don't see this very often!

Jungle viewers may get a sense of déjà vu tonight as Dennis Wise takes on a rather familiar Bushtucker Trial…

It’s a rare occurrence to see the same trial twice on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but on Tuesday’s episode, retired footballer Dennis will be given the chance to complete the challenge Iain Lee failed.

If you remember, comedian Iain was forced to yell “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” when he took on the Temple of Gloom.

It was a vast, underwater task that required him to dive into a pool, surface in an air pocket, and then make his way along various chambers filled with creepy crawlies.

Poor Iain just couldn’t do it and actually ended up being given oxygen by Medic Bob when he returned to the surface.

But this evening, Dennis is given another chance for the camp to see it through.

He starts off well, getting into the air pocket and on to the first chamber, with Ant remarking: “Already it’s a better start than Iain.”

Dennis has ten minutes to collect eight stars and we’ll find out tonight whether or not he does it.

Of course, the fact he’s a smaller than Iain (he’s a very small man, didn’t you know?) is probably a pretty big factor in him getting further; many viewers felt Iain, at 6ft 3in, was just too tall to cram himself into the narrow air pocket and tunnels.

Perhaps it’s no surprise that Dennis has been allowed to tackle the trial.

After all, Ant & Dec both said on Extra Camp that Iain was too big for the task and it was better suited to someone smaller.

They also joked about the trial costing a lot of money and viewers not being able to see it.

Ant said: “Iain was too big for it. Honestly, when he put his head in and his shoulders in, all the oxygen went really quickly. He was struggling and panicking.

Scarlett Moffatt then chipped in: “It would be alright for someone like Dennis Wise.”

Ant & Dec both quipped: “Because he’s a very small man!”

When asked why they’d encouraged Iain to abandon the first star and move onto the next, Ant joked: “[We had someone in our ear saying] this has cost a lot of money to make this trial.”

Dec added: “We want to see it on television!”

Well, we’ll see it on tonight’s I’m A Celeb!
