Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington has revealed that her partner Jonathan Goodwin has undergone surgery in hospital.
Jonathan was left paralysed after a stunt for America’s Got Talent in 2021 went very wrong.
He spent four months in hospital after falling 30ft between two burning cars during rehearsals. Jonathan was crushed during the accident – and has needed to make use of a wheelchair since then.
However, going by a recent Instagram Story update shared by Amanda, 52, Jonathan is set for a significant op.

Uploading a selfie to her account, Amanda hailed Jonathan, 44, as “the bravest dude I know”.
The Sherlock star also confession how attending hospital had sadly become a familiar trip for them.
With the pic showing them sat on a hospital bed, Amanda added in her post’s caption: “More spinal surgery. We’re used to hospital rooms.”

According to reports, Jonathan’s terrifying accident saw him airlifted to hospital at the time.
He is believed to have sustained a range of serious injuries, including fractures to his ribs, legs and shoulders, as well as third degree burns, injuries to his internal organs, and the loss of his left kidney.
What happened with Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice?
Amanda’s social media message comes amid recent claims concerning her Strictly partnership with Giovanni Pernice.
She pulled out of the 2023 series last October on medical grounds. However, reports at the time claimed the duo may have been ‘feuding’ away from the cameras.
It was subsequently alleged she PTSD and needed therapy. Meanwhile, in recent weeks, it has also been reported Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore, who previously performed with Giovanni, had an “emotional” summit with Amanda concerning their own experiences on the show.
