Former EastEnders star eyes up role on TOWIE

Actress reportedly wants a fresh start

If you’ve ever wondered what Danniella Westbrook watches on the telly – well, we think we have the answer.

The former EastEnders star, 44, has tweeted to express her enthusiasm for The Only Way Is Essex.

But not only that – it sounds like she wants a part on the ITVBe reality show!

This afternoon, Danniella – who played Sam Mitchell on the BBC soap – tweeted: “So, was just chatting over coffee about @LimePictures show TOWIE.

“I live in Loughton [Essex] – have done all my life. Would love 2 rock up & cause carnage in that show. Momma Essex, that’s me lol. Oh, the mischief I could cause lol.”

Poor Danniella tragically suffered her fourth miscarriage back in September, and it’s been reported that she’s since split from her fiance, Alan Thomason, 35.

The actress has spent a lot of time in Spain over the past few years, but a source suggested to The Sun that she’s now ready to start afresh back in the UK.

They said: “Danniella’s been through a tough few years and now wants to come home.

“She’s been looking at houses in Brentwood and wants to buy a new house in the UK for a fresh start after all the heartache she’s suffered in Spain.”

Well, judging by the responses to her tweet, TOWIE fans would welcome the blonde star with open arms.

One encouraged: “Go for it, Danni – would be nice to see someone real in it!”

Another clearly agreed with that sentiment, adding: “That would be entertaining.”

And a third viewer enthused: “I’d definitely watch it if you was in it! Liven it up a bit.”

Danniella’s tweet comes amid claims that TOWIE chiefs are planning a shake-up of the popular show.

Last week, a show insider told The Sun: “Producers want to reward the cast who make the show great, and get rid of the ones who don’t.

“The show has always been strict about only showing what’s really going on in the cast’s lives, and if the cast aren’t willing to have that on camera, they could face being booted off.”

Well, we know someone who’s ready to step in!
