Strictly Come Dancing star Balvinder Sopal is in danger of being the next celebrity eliminated, bookies have told ED!.
The EastEnders actress is one of many famous faces taking part in this year’s series of the BBC One show. Partnered with Julian Caillon, the pair were doing well.
At the weekend though, Balvinder found herself in the dreaded dance-off – much to the shock of fans online. And now, Balvinder has been dealt another major blow….
Balvinder Sopal lands in Strictly bottom two
On Saturday night (October 11), Balvinder and partner Julian Caillon took to the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor again.
The pair danced a foxtrot to The Way You Look Tonight from the movie Swing Time. Viewers on the hashtag loved it, with some fans claiming Shirley Ballas’ criticism of Balvinder was harsh.
However, the likes on social media didn’t translate to votes… And, during the results show, Balvinder ended up the dance-off against presenter Ross King. Fortunately for Balvinder, the judges decided to save her, meaning Ross was sent home.
However, according to recent odds from the bookies, Balvinder’s time in the show could be coming to an end soon…
Balvinder in the danger zone
In odds provided by SportsCasting, bookies have chalked up Balvinder at 6/1 odds to get booted from Strictly Come Dancing next.
“Balvinder, despite being saved by the judges, is in the mix at 6/1 after her surprise appearance in the bottom two raised questions about her public support,” said SportsCasting. She’s third favourite to leave, behind Chris Robshaw (11/10) and Stefan Dennis (2/1).
What’s more, Balvinder’s chances of taking home the Glitterball have been slashed, too. She has odds of 66/1 to win the show.
SportsCasting said: “Balvinder Sopal’s odds have drifted right out to 66/1 after a shock appearance in the bottom two that caught plenty of fans off guard.”
‘Justice for Bal!’
During Sunday’s (October 12) results show, Balvinder and Julian found themselves in the bottom two alongside Ross King and Jowita Przystal.
While the couple was saved by the panel of judges, viewers still fumed over the results, insisting Shirley’s negative comments could have impacted the result.
“SHIRLEY THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT NOT BALVINDER,” one passionate user wrote on X. “Justice for Bal!!! Shirley’s bias needs dealing with asap,” another person shared.
