Meryl – who won the first series of The Traitors in 2022 – also told her fans she had looked forward to having the surgery for a long time.

“Sharing my forehead reduction / hairline lowering surgery journey,” she wrote in the caption of her post.

“Not a lot of people know I underwent the surgery. It was something I have wanted for years and dealt with one of my biggest insecurities, my forehead,” she added.

It was something I have wanted for years.

The reel included pre-surgery photos as part of the clip, as well as shots of her current appearance following her treatment.

Another image from the reel displayed a selfie where Meryl revealed guidelines on her brow indicating where the surgeon would operate.

Doctor Greg Bran – a plastic surgery specialist in London – is believed to have cut along Meryl’s hairline before pulling her skin up to remove extra skin before stitching it back together.

And in the short video’s voiceover, it was also explained Meryl has a “new lease of confidence” now the procedure has been done.

‘I didn’t think there was going to be anything that would help’

Back in August 2023, Meryl opened up about her thoughts about having the procedure.

She recalled how she attempted to cover her forehead when she was a child.

“I had a full fringe from the age of five. But I didn’t think there was going to be anything that would help it,” Meryl said at the time.

Meryl also decided on the surgery then because she’d reportedly met someone who’d had it and that had Meryl pondering whether forehead reduction would be right for her.

“The operation was straight-forward and there were no complications,” she told Metro.

BBC reality show star Meryl added: “My head still is quite swollen. [The surgeon] cut along the hairline and pulled my hairline down and then removed some excess skin. He then had to do some bone shaving.”

The operation was said to have lasted two hours – and Meryl was prescribed painkillers as part of her recover. She added: “I still can’t feel my head right now. It was quite painful.”
