Jamie Lomas feels the strain of I’m A Celeb camp life on Extra Camp

And Joe Swash predicts it could be explosive!

Jamie Lomas has been a pretty cool and collected character in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle so far.

But is that all about to change?

An exclusive clip aired on yesterday’s Extra Camp revealed the ex Hollyoaks actor is starting to feel the stress of camp life.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it came after he was among the contestants banished to Snake Rock with basic rations after newcomer Kezia Dugdale lost her first Bushtucker Trial.

Sitting on a damp log in Snake Rock, Jamie told Becky Vardy: “For the first time since I’ve been here I’m a little irritated. I don’t like having a moan.”

She replied: “But it’s irritating, isn’t it, when you’ve got settled somewhere.”

Jamie and Becky are currently at Snake Rock with Kezia, Georgia Toffolo and Vanessa White.

Meanwhile, fellow newcomer Iain Lee is Jungle Prime Minister over at Croc Creek with Stanley Johnson, Jennie McAlpine, Amir Khan, Dennis Wise and Shappi Khorsandi.

Back in the studio, fellow ex soap star Joe Swash couldn’t resist a cheeky joke about Jamie’s distress.

“My theory is when I was Mickey Miller in EastEnders, I was just me. I wasn’t acting. He’s in there and he plays a murderer [Warren Fox in Hollyoaks] so I’m thinking he might start knocking a few people off,” said Joe.

“He has them psycho eyes. No one can be that good of an actor.”

Adopting a more serious tone, Joe suggested that Jamie’s unhappy because he isn’t leader of the camp.

“I think he’s irritated because he wanted to be the alpha male of camp and he’s obviously not the alpha male of camp,” mused Joe.

“I think the women are stronger than the men this year.”

Joe added: “I think he should be happy. He’s in a place with the ladies and I don’t think he should be telling them he’s irritated.”

But Scarlett Moffatt jumped in to defend Jamie.

“I feel for him,” she said. “See it from Jamie’s version: he’s been with Amir and Dennis and they have this little bromance going on.

“Now he has no blokes around him. He’s missing his boys, I think, so I feel for him.”

I’m A Celebrity airs 9pm on ITV.
