Sam Faiers hints baby’s gender on This Morning, plans big family

She reckons she's worked it out from her shape

Former TOWIE star Sam Faiers has been keeping us all on tenterhooks about the gender of her second baby, as she reaches the third trimester of her pregnancy.

But it seems she might have let the cat out the bag on today’s This Morning when she said her tiny bump is different to when she was pregnant with her first child. She named her first child Paul, after her partner who is also of the same name.

She said: “I’m carrying a lot different to what I did with Paul.”

Presenter Ruth Langsford then questioned her on the sex of the baby as she asked: “Do you think it might be a girl?” Sam replied sheepishly: “It could be, we’re keeping it a surprise.

“I’ve had a nice pregnancy again, I’ve had no morning sickness or cravings but I’ve been extremely tired.”

Sam confessed she isn’t going to stop at two babies and would like to have a big family. She said: “I want more. I want four or five.

“I think I’ll have a bit more of a gap after this baby and then maybe when they’re in school, just to free up a bit of time and get my life back a little bit. Paul wants a big family too.”

Sam said she doesn’t mind what gender the baby will be, but would feel “blessed” to have a girl, because then she would have a son and a daughter.

She explained: “It would be lovely to have a little boy because then they’re brothers and they grow up together, but equally I’d like a little girl and then I’d feel blessed because I’ve got one of each.”

When presenter Eamonn Holmes asked her if it was a “good idea” to call her son the same name as her boyfriend, she didn’t understand why it was seen as strange by some.

She said: “I got a lot of stick actually when I said the baby’s called Paul. To me and to Paul we just thought it was traditional.”

Apart from her own show, The Mummy Diaries, this might be the last time Sam is seen on TV before the birth of the baby, as she admitted recently she wants to keep her second pregnancy more private than her first one.

She only announced at the beginning of July that she was pregnant, though by that time she was in her second trimester. She has chosen to show off the stages of her pregnancy on her own terms by posting pictures to Instagram, rather than doing a magazine spread.

A source close to Sam told MailOnline recently: “Samantha has lived her life in the public eye over the past couple of years and she’s now decided to take a step back from any publicity around the birth of her second child.

“She has one pre-booked TV appearance next month but other than that she doesn’t have any plans to discuss the pregnancy with the media.”

It was reported that Sam turned down six-figure deals from magazines who wanted to break the news that she was pregnant, and exclusively cover the birth.
