Ollie Driscoll and Lauren Bolton’s Coronation Street romance
Since Dee-Dee’s exit from the Street, Ollie has grown close to Lauren Bolton. The single mum working behind the bar at the Rovers. Keen to impress, Ollie’s shown off his cooking skills and gone out of his way to spend time with her.
When a friend pulled out of a karaoke night, Ollie invited Lauren along instead. Although she enjoyed herself, a misunderstanding followed. Lauren believed Ollie had invented the excuse just to get her on a date, when he was actually being honest.
Ollie later invited her to a student party, prompting Lauren to seek outfit advice from Betsy. After the night out, she returned convinced she’d been firmly ‘friend-zoned.’ Thanks to some interference from Betsy, however, it soon emerged that both Ollie and Lauren had feelings for each other and had simply misread the signals.
Not everyone was pleased by the budding romance. When Maggie Driscoll discovered what was going on, she made her feelings very clear. She branded Lauren a ‘low-life,’ even tampering with the rota to derail their next date. Whether Maggie can keep them apart remains to be seen.

Ollie Driscoll’s past relationship with Dee-Dee, who was noticeably older than 19-year-old Lauren, has only added to the confusion for fans. Many have assumed he’s in his 30s, only to start doubting themselves as the storyline develops.
On Reddit, one viewer asked: “Just curious, how old is Ollie supposed to be? I was surprised when he was showing interest in Lauren because I know she is at least 19 or 20 by now but I guess I was thinking Ollie was like, early 30s?”
Another added: “I always thought he was older, because Dee-Dee is in her early 30s (or so I assumed)?”
A third fan tried to work it out logically, writing: “Considering that Maggie has just turned 65, Ben must be around 45? Then we have to speculate how young he was when Ollie was born. If he was like 18 that would put Ollie around 27.”
How old actor Raphael Akuwudike is likely to be
While Ollie’s on-screen age remains unconfirmed, he’s generally thought to be somewhere between 26 and 28, with the upper limit likely around 30. Actor Raphael Akuwudike typically plays roles ranging from 16 to 30, narrowing the possibilities further.
Raphael’s exact age hasn’t been made public, but clues from his career offer some insight. He graduated from the Drama Centre London in 2022 with a BA Hons, which would suggest he’s at least 25, assuming he began his degree at the usual age of 18.
Back in 2019, Raphael also appeared in a stage production titled The Jumper Factory, where all performers were aged between 18 and 25 at the time. Taking all of this into account, it would place the actor at no older than 32.
