Prince William allegedly angered Prince Harry when he asked Earl Spencer (the brother of Princess Diana) to intervene regarding his relationship with Meghan Markle.
Apparently Prince William was concerned that Harry was rushing into marrying the former Suits actress.
And believed that Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, could serve as the voice of reason.
But this reportedly completely backfired – and only made Harry more determined than ever to marry Meghan as soon as he could.
These stunning claims are made in Robert Lacey’s book, Battle of Brothers.
Why was Prince William concerned?
Robert is one of the UK’s most revered royal experts, and he even serves as a royal advisor on the hit Netflix series The Crown.
An extract reveals that Harry was enraged with William after Charles spoke to him about Meghan.

Here, he writes: “The result of the Spencer intervention was an even more bitter explosion.
“Once again Harry refused to slow down.”
But he apparently wasn’t cross with Charles, but deeply so with William.
Why did Prince William ask the brother of Princess Diana for help?
He continued: “Yet he was furious with his elder brother for dragging other family members into the row.”
Indeed, this coincides with similar claims made in Finding Freedom.
Written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, they state that William urged Harry not to rush into marrying Meghan.

An excerpt includes: “After all, these are two brothers that have spent their whole lives with people trying to take advantage of them.
“They’ve both developed a radar to detect that type of person, but as William didn’t know a whole lot about Meghan, he wanted to make sure Harry wasn’t blindsided by lust.”
Have Prince William and Prince Harry really fallen out?
What’s more, the book states that William warned Harry to take his time getting to know ‘girl’ Meghan.
The use of girl apparently greatly upset Harry. Albeit he interpreted it as an attitude of snobbery towards the American.
“Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl”, is what a source claims William told his younger brother.
Whereas Harry and William now live on different continents.
It is widely reported that they have rarely spoken since Harry relocated to California with Meghan and son Archie.
However, they allegedly spoke on both of their birthdays this year.
