Lucy Mecklenburgh has admitted that her and Ryan Thomas’ wedding hopes have “fallen by the wayside” for now.
Former Coronation Street star Ryan proposed back in 2019. But, he and Lucy haven’t yet tied the knot.
In a new interview, the mum-of-two explained that having children before getting married has changed their priorities, with family life keeping the couple busy.
“I think it’s become harder because we had kids before we got married,” Lucy told the Mirror. “So then your priorities change a little bit, and we actually fell pregnant with Roman the night we got engaged. Then that became a priority, then Lilah, and then we moved to Manchester, and it’s all been really full-on.”

Lucy, 35, is keen to stress that marriage has not been forgotten by her and Ryan, 42, who share Roman, six, and Lilah, four.
“We would love to one day,” she said.
However, there is another wedding firmly at the top of Lucy’s list. Her sister is getting married next summer, meaning the focus is very much on helping her enjoy the build-up to her big day.
Lucy said: “My sister is getting married next summer, so the focus is on her at the moment. We went wedding dress shopping the other day. I’d love to do it too one day, but I’m trying to put my focus on her and enjoying the process for her first.”

When did Lucy and Ryan start dating?
Lucy and Ryan first got together in 2017 after meeting on Channel 4 ’s Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls. Earlier this year, the couple made headlines when Ryan revealed that they sleep in separate bedrooms.
Lucy has now explained their setup. With two young children to look after, she said that getting enough sleep is a priority, particularly when Ryan’s snoring and sleep talking are involved.
Ryan opened up about them sleeping in separate beds on a recent podcast episode.

During an episode of Ryan’s At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast, which he hosts alongside brothers Adam and Scott, he opened up about the arrangement.
Adam didn’t seem to agree with the setup, saying: “Which I think is [bleeped] up personally as well. You need to stay in the same bed as her.”
Ryan then clarified that he and Lucy are currently sharing a bed while spending the summer at their smaller London property.
