The one royal fighting Princess Beatrice and Eugenie’s corner amid Andrew scandal ‘revealed’

"He won't go to war for Andrew"

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have faced a tough few months amid the ongoing scandal surrounding their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Andrew, 66, has faced intense criticism over his past links to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. From being mentioned in the release of Epstein files in January to his shock arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February, Andrew has been heavily scrutinised.

Throughout this, his daughters Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, have remained quiet. However, royal experts have claimed the scandal has taken its toll on the sisters.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal

Amid all the scrutiny surrounding their father Andrew, there’s been talk over Beatrice and Eugenie’s roles within the monarchy.

Last October, King Charles initiated a formal process to remove Andrew’s royal titles and honours, including his prince title.

It came as scrutiny was mounting even more over Andrew’s ties to Epstein as well as the resurfacing of the late Virginia Giuffre’s allegations of sexual assault against the royal. Andrew has always vehemently denied Ms Giuffre’s allegations.

The king’s decision posed the question whether Beatrice and Eugenie should lose their princess titles. However, it’s believed they will keep their titles.

One royal commentator has said King Charles remains firmly supportive of his nieces.

Charles’ ‘support’ for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie

Speaking to the Express, royal author Robert Jobson said: “Charles loves those girls. Always has. But he won’t go to war for Andrew – and they know it.”

However, things may be different when it comes to Beatrice and Eugenie’s cousin, Prince William.

Charles and William need to make that call.

Jobson continued: “William is cold-eyed about the institution. Unsentimental. Catherine backs people who stay quiet and get on with things. Of the three, Charles is the only one who actually cares.

“But in the end the rule should be simple: you work for the Crown, you keep the title. You don’t, you don’t. Charles and William need to make that call.”

Beatrice and Eugenie face calls to give up royal titles

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are not working royals. However, they do support King Charles and other senior royals.

They remain close to the royal family, often being seen out at events throughout the year.

But, royal commentator Jennie Bond recently advised the royal sisters to quietly give up their titles.

Speaking to the Mirror, Bond said: “I don’t think either of them has ever flaunted their titles, but there’s obviously a huge cachet in some circles about being called a Princess. A title like that opens doors and sets up connections, which both Beatrice and Eugenie have used to their advantage.

While sitting around the campfire, Lisa Riley asked Jack about his dad, prompting him to open up about his death.

He told Lisa: “It was definitely a shock. I mean, we knew he was sick for a while. But it was definitely a shock. We didn’t know it would be that quick.”

Reflecting on Ozzy’s last show, Jack began getting emotional. He said: “It was the ultimate mic drop. He did a massive big gig and was like: ‘Alright, I’m done.'”

Lisa was quick to comfort him, telling him that his dad would be so proud of him. And that her mum also heartbreakingly passed away.

Jack agreed: “He would be so supportive of this,” as Lisa told him: “What a legacy to leave behind.”

And it seemed that is what was comforting Jack, as he admitted: “I can hear him whenever I want.”

He then appeared in the Bush Telegraph, saying: “I’m still navigating it all. It’s been three nearly four months and so it’s still pretty fresh.”

“There’s nothing wrong in that, but now that their father has been stripped of his titles and their mother can no longer use hers, they might like to quietly drop the use of theirs.”

She added: “I don’t see the need for them to renounce them publicly, but it might be prudent to sever links with the York name — now so very tarnished —and just use their married names.”
