Brendan Cole has spoken candidly about his financial fears after leaving Strictly Come Dancing. He admitted he does not know whether he will still be able to afford his children’s school fees or his current home in five years.
The former pro-dancer left the show in 2018, after a turbulent few months. But while he has not hid from speaking about his previous experience, Brendan has shed some more light on the situation.
However, as he spoke about “career changes”, Brendan got candid about the financial pressure he faces now.

Recording Manopause with fellow former Strictly professional James Jordan, Brendan reflected on how much his career had changed.
He told listeners: “We all experience sort of career change. I’m in such a different place.
“And I don’t know what the next chapter is. I’m actually brutally honest. I’m scared.”
The dancer shares daughter Aurelia and son Danté with his wife Zoe. He explained that his concerns now extend to the family’s future expenses and living arrangements.
Brendan said: “I have no idea if in five years I’m going to be able to pay my school fees.
“I don’t know if I’m going to be able to afford the place that I’m living in.”
He also questioned whether he would continue to enjoy the same level of professional success. Brendan acknowledged that his career had reached a particularly successful point towards the end of his time on Strictly.
His comments give a frank account of the uncertainty that can follow a long-running television role. Brendan had spent more than a decade as one of Strictly’s best-known dancers before leaving the programme.

Brendan joined the original Strictly professional line-up and won the first series with Natasha Kaplinsky in 2004. His departure came in 2018 after 14 years with the BBC One show.
During the podcast, Brendan also discussed his Strictly exit. He said someone overheard him use the C-word about head judge Shirley Ballas while he was away from the cameras.
According to Brendan, Strictly then asked him to promise that he would not make a similar remark again.
He said: “Strictly wanted my assurances that I wasn’t going to make a remark like that again.
“I wasn’t on air, it wasn’t recorded, it was about somebody. It wasn’t to their face, but I couldn’t turn around to them and say, ‘OK, I’ll give you my assurances that that won’t happen’.”
Brendan added that he did not condone the language and had apologised for using it at the time. However, he said he would not withdraw the sentiment behind his remark.
The former Strictly champion has now entered what he described as a very different stage of his career. As he works on Manopause with James, Brendan has made clear that he remains uncertain about what his next chapter will bring.
