Bradley Walsh opens up about mystery medical condition

The comedian appeared on This Morning

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh has revealed he has a medical condition, blepharitis, which causes his eyelids to swell and become extremely red.

During his chat with This Morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford today the presenter admitted he would need surgery in the future.

He told the hosts: “People don’t realise I have seriously bad blepharitis.

“I have to take [one pill] a day for it or I really struggle. I am going to need my eyes operated on at some point to sort it out.”

There have been many rumours circling the net that accused Bradley of being drunk while on TV when in fact it was just the condition that made him look like he was.

The 56-year-old said: “So many times, people have commented on [how I look]. But they don’t realise.

“If I take [medication] though, I’m fine.”

And that’s not the only ailment he’s suffered with. He also revealed how the storylines on his previous shows such as Coronation Street and Law & Order UK, caused him to have headaches. Bradley said: “The storylines can just be so intense!

“I have to take medication for the headaches.”

The actor added: “I don’t take normal tablets. I’m just not into medication.”

Bradley, who hosts ITV game show The Chase, also spoke about his new show at the London Palladium and working on his brand album.

Recently, the presenter found himself ranting at a contestant on The Chase after he made the ever so unpopular choice of taking the minus offer.

Quizzer Scott made the decision to go low and take £1,000 despite being offered a whopping £30,000.

Bradley didn’t look too impressed and was left gobsmacked by his decision.

He ranted: “It’s important not to be ridiculed every time you step out of your house!

“What’s the matter with you lad? Pull yourself together!”
