Sheridan Smith has unveiled a bold new look after colouring her blonde hair a striking shade of red. The Gavin and Stacey star has also opted for a shorter cut with a sweeping fringe.
She revealed the makeover in an Instagram video with former Emmerdale star Charley Webb.
Sheridan has changed her signature blonde locks before, including a brunette transformation for her West End role in Opening Night.

Sheridan’s scarlet colour took centre stage in the Instagram footage. The friends sang along to Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You as they travelled together in a car.
Charley drove while Sheridan leaned affectionately against her pal. The former Debbie Dingle actress later commented: “Back to Life,” followed by two penguin emojis.

Fans quickly praised Sheridan’s shorter red hairstyle. One Instagram user wrote: “Absolutely gorgeous hair.”
Another told her: “Beautiful you look so pretty @sheridansmithster.” A third added: “OMG Sheridan you LOOK phenomenal! WOW!”
“Love love love the red hair, Sheridan” another commented.
Charley Webb on her bond with Sheridan Smith
The new clip put Sheridan and Charley’s close friendship back in the spotlight. Charley discussed their bond during an appearance on the Love, Laugh, Luke podcast earlier this year.
Speaking to host Luke Hamnett, she said: “We spend so much time together. We’re always together.”
She added: “We can lay on the bed and not speak for an hour and I’m like, ‘Oh s***, I forgot you were there.’ That’s the best, because we’re just scrolling on Instagram.”
Charley explained that she and Sheridan originally met through the entertainment industry years ago. They later crossed paths again and grew much closer.
She told the podcast: “And then we met a few years ago again. And then we’ve literally just been inseparable ever since.”
According to The Sun, their friendship strengthened following Charley’s split from her husband and former Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden. It was also reported that Charley stayed with Sheridan during that period.
