Jake Quickenden has spoken out about his split from wife Sophie Church, insisting the former couple remain on good terms and continue to put their children first.
The TV star addressed their relationship three months after Jake confirmed his split from Sophie. He had explained at the time that they still loved and respected each other, but had grown apart.
Jake and influencer Sophie share sons Leo, five, and Kit, one. Sophie also has an older son, Freddie, from a previous relationship.
Jake Quickenden speaks out on split from wife for the first time
Speaking to The Sun at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards in Manchester, Jake said: “I’m definitely in a good place.
“There has been a lot going on but for me, my kids are what comes first over everything.”
Jake also dismissed suggestions that there was hostility between the exes. He told the newspaper: “Sophie and I are in a good place. There was no kind of malice there or anything like that.
“We’ll always put the kids before anything else. “Now, for me, it is all about kind of moving forward and continuing to try and better myself and make sure my kids are happy. I mean, that’s what drives me.”
He added: “All I’m bothered about are the kids, if I’m honest.
“As long as they’re going to be okay then I’ll be fine and we will all be good.”
The update follows intense interest in the pair’s personal lives. Jake and Sophie had regularly shared family content online before announcing their separation.

Jake spoke about the split while hosting the UK Hair and Beauty Awards at Manchester’s AO Arena. The event marked his fourth consecutive year as host.
He said the ceremony “gets bigger and better every single time” and praised its focus on celebrating people within the hair and beauty industry.
Jake has also taken on more presenting work with This Morning. However, he explained that an awards ceremony allows him to interact directly with a live audience and show a cheekier side of his personality.
Discussing his ambitions, he told The Sun: “But presenting, I think, and acting is the way I want to go.”
Katie Price puts Jake Quickenden on the spot
The ceremony also produced a playful exchange between Jake and Katie Price. While presenting an award, Katie claimed Ben Shephard had once suggested that she and Jake would suit each other.
After Katie asked whether she was his type, Jake replied: “You’re a beautiful lady, Kate, get on with the awards!”
The Sun, whose reporter attended the event, said the interaction appeared to be a joke rather than genuine flirting.
Katie concentrated on her children Junior and Princess during the evening, while Jake remained focused on his hosting duties.
