Strictly star FINALLY addresses illness rumours

A replacement was reportedly drafted in to help with rehearsals

There had been fears over whether or not Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard would be well enough for Halloween Week.

It was reported the 22-year-old dancer had developed a temperature and nasty bug that was preventing him training with celeb partner Mollie King.

NIGHTMARE!

But AJ alleviated all of those fears by appearing on Strictly spinoff It Takes Two on Thursday night, looking healthy and saying he was raring to go for Saturday night.

Phew!

While he didn’t address the illness claims directly, he reassured everyone he was A-OK by saying: “”I’m ready, I’m ready!”

AJ and Mollie revealed they’ve been training for about 12 hours every day and will be hoping to impress the judges with their Cha Cha Cha to Kylie Minogue’s Better The Devil You Know on Saturday evening.

And maybe they’ll even get their first nines?

The couple earned three eights last week from Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Darcey Ballas after wowing with a beautiful Viennese Waltz.

“It’s my favourite dance to date,” said Mollie.

“I loved every minute of it and felt like we were in a movie. I didn’t want it to end. I felt like a princess for those 90 seconds.

“And we got an eight from Craig! We were like, ‘Craig, are you feeling okay?!’ It was great, amazing!

“I had said to AJ at the start of the week, ‘I would love an eight for this one. I just need an eight! Come on!’

“Then I get three eights!”

However, Saturdays star Mollie admitted she’s finding the Cha Cha Cha hard to master.

“It’s the devil for me,” she said.

“It’s just not agreeing with me. AJ is actually being quite positive with me this week as I’m being quite negative. You know when it’s just not going in the body?

“I’m really trying to keep straight legs but it’s so hard. It feels weird to keep your legs straight all the time.”

It’s good to see AJ looking well after a source told The Sun that Strictly bosses needed to draft in a replacement dancer to work with Mollie while he recovered.

An insider said: “He really needs to lie down for the majority of the day as is temperature is up and down.

“He’s popping in every now and then to training to advise on the choreography, but he doesn’t want to give Mollie his illness.”

Glad you have you back, AJ!
