Roy Cropper leaves Coronation Street for South America

Is David Neilson leaving the show?

Coronation Street revealed Roy Cropper packing his bags tonight. But where is he going? And will he be back?

Roy has been feeling the pressure following his lies to the police over what really happened between Abi and Corey.

And after DS Abney’s visit tonight (Monday November 22) and revelation the gun Abi had was the one that killed Natasha, the guilt has become too much for Roy.

Where is Roy going?

After lying to the police to protect Abi once again, Roy can’t take it any more. He has signed everything – his business and his flat – over to Nina and told Abi he must accept he is responsible for Natasha’s death.

He has packed his bags, but where is he going?

On Wednesday (November 24) he tells Sally he will no longer be getting involved with the Christmas market plans, and calls at the garage asking Abi to sell the Woody for him as soon as possible.

Nina’s more worried than ever, especially when she finds out from Adam Roy has signed his entire estate over to her with immediate effect.

Nina believes he’s going to take his own life, but Roy reveals he’s planning to leave Weatherfield for good.

He explains he’s going to work in South America as a chef to pay his penance for all the wrongs he’s done.

Will Roy really leave Coronation Street?

Desperate to get him to change his mind, Nina summons Carla, Cathy, Brian, Fiz, Chesney and Mary to the cafe to tell Roy how much he means to them.

Carla plays him a voicemail from Nina which suggests Roy is involved in something that wasn’t his fault. Roy refuses to talk and Carla leaves, upset.

Roy takes this as a sign he really must leave, unable to bear lying to Carla.

Nina is determined to stop him leaving the street he loves, but will she be successful? Or has Roy made up his mind – will he leave for good?

Coronation Street has not revealed whether Roy will go – or if he’ll be back. We just hope he’s not away for too long.
