Back in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a reported five-year multi-million pound deal with streaming giant Netflix. But there’s been speculation recently over whether the deal will end for good this year.
Netflix bosses seem to be standing by the Sussexes and have teased some new projects coming up, including Meghan’s new lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
The new eight-part series will premiere on March 4, after being delayed due to the recent LA wildfires.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s projects on Netflix so far
In 2020, after they stepped back from their senior royal roles, Meghan and Harry signed a reported $100 million (£80m) deal with Netflix.
Then in 2022, they released their tell-all docuseries called Harry & Meghan. In that they detailed their experiences within the monarchy and made a string of claims about the treatment they received.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry‘s docuseries Polo released in 2024. The show uncovered the glamorous world of Polo – a sport Harry is fond of. However, the duke only briefly appeared in the series.
But recent reports have claimed that the documentary received poor ratings and reviews. It’s led to some speculating whether Harry and Meghan’s deal will continue with Netflix beyond 2025 as the five-year contract approaches the end.
Netflix boss ‘excited’ over With Love, Meghan
Amid all the speculation and reports, Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria has expressed excitement over Meghan’s upcoming show.
With Love, Meghan will see the Duchess of Sussex give viewers a variety of tips and tricks on cooking, crafting and gardening. It’ll also feature some celebrity guests including Mindy Kaling and her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
I am really excited about that coming out.
When asked where Netflix “stands with that deal”, Ms Bajaria told the MailOnline: “We have Meghan’s new show coming out, which is great.
“It is such a great take on a lifestyle show and showcase for California, Montecito and nature. It really has great takeaways. I was like, ‘oh my God, I want to really do that pasta.’ There’s really easy great takeaways on life. I am really excited about that coming out.”
Meghan Markle movie ‘in development’
Meanwhile, Ms Bajaria opened up about a screen adaptation of the novel Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune that Meghan is working on.
When asked whether the movie is “definitely coming out,” Ms Bajaria said: “It is in development. It is a great book, she had it and we are happy to do it. And we have things in development. Everyone is excited about what is coming. I am really excited for her show.”
Queen Consort Camilla is set to undergo a major title change following the coronation in May, it has recently been reported.
Now, the real reason behind this change in title has been revealed by a royal expert – and it’s not due to her popularity.
Queen Consort Camilla to undergo major title change
Last week it was revealed that Camilla will undergo a major title change at the coronation.
As reported by The Mirror last Thursday (March 16), Camilla will be dropping the ‘Consort’ from her Queen Consort title soon.
Once the coronation is done, the 75-year-old will reportedly be simply known as Queen Camilla going forwards.
The news was revealed when the coronation edition of the bible was leaked.
In it, it reads: “To commemorate the Coronation of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. In the Abbey Church of St Peter, Westminster. The sixth day of May 2023.”
When Camilla first married Charles, it was expected that she would become Princess Consort when Charles became King.
However, as per the late Queen Elizabeth’s wishes, Camilla’s title was changed to Queen Consort when Charles took the throne.
Now it seems as though another tweak is in order for Camilla’s royal title.
Why is Queen Consort Camilla changing her title?
Now, the real reason behind Camilla’s title change has been revealed – and it’s nothing to do with her popularity.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam spoke exclusively to ED! about the decision to change Camilla’s title and the reasoning behind it.
“Camilla’s history with titles is unique,” he said.
“She was Princess of Wales but chose to be known as the Duchess of Cornwall,” he then continued.
” It was the official position that when Charles ascended the throne she would be known as Princess Consort, until the Queen’s intervention in the eve of her Platinum Jubilee.”
“She is Queen Consort, but it is a heavy handed title,” he then said.
Camilla title change not down to ‘popularity’
The royal expert then continued, saying: “None of the previous three Queen Consorts used it, Alexandra, Mary and Elizabeth were all known as Queen.”
“In the age of social media and the net bad habits such as calling Catherine – Kate Middleton persist,” he then said.
“It also makes sense to make a title easier to use, which is why the change is likely,” he then continued.
Camilla’s history with titles is unique.
Richard then revealed at this point that the title change has nothing to do with popularity.
“It isn’t really linked to her personal popularity,” he said.
However, there is also another reason behind the change, according to the royal expert.
“Queen Consort Camilla sounds clunky so it will probably change,” he revealed.

Promoting his upcoming talk show on the streaming service, John quipped at the event: “This is a really fun experiment. Not since Harry and Meghan, has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
Ouch.
