Could we see Meghan Markle attend the Oscars this year ahead of the premiere of her new Netflix show?
Each year there are rumours over whether Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, could attend the prestigious Hollywood ceremony. This year it’ll take place on Sunday, March 2.
Meanwhile, Meghan will return to the entertainment spotlight next week with her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
Now, a PR expert has discussed the benefits Meghan could face if she were to attend the 2025 Oscars.
Meghan Markle would ‘make a statement’ with appearance at Oscars before premiere of Netflix show
PR guru Lynn Carratt spoke to Sportsbook Review about the potential of seeing the duchess on the red carpet.
She said: “Meghan and Harry are no strangers to the red carpet or awards season and have both attended major ceremonies like the Baftas in previous years. It was previously rumoured that the Academy Awards had reached out to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend the Oscars last year.
The Academy Awards red carpet could be the perfect place for Meghan to plug her latest project.
“But, despite the rumours, the pair were a no show. Their speculative appearance was criticised, with Meghan and Harry having no real reason to attend at the time and many of the view that it wouldn’t have been great optics to see the duo rubbing shoulders with Hollywood’s finest.”
Lynn continued: “However, could this year be the year that Meghan does attend? Focusing on her own brand of late, Meghan’s new Netflix release, With Love, Meghan, is imminent and is set to hit the streaming platform on 4 March – two days after the Oscars takes place.
“The Academy Awards red carpet could be the perfect place for Meghan to plug her latest project. Especially with the film featuring many of her A-list pals from her days on screen.”
Meghan could ‘get people talking’ with Oscars appearance
Lynn said if Meghan did attend the Oscars, it would “definitely have people talking”. She said it would put “all eyes on her and generating wide scale attention at a key moment for her”.
The expert added: “With only one project left as part of her and Harry’s five-year deal with Netflix, attending the Oscars would be a clever PR move by Meghan to boost viewing figures and ensure these final projects are a success.
“It would show that not only is she focused on building her own brand away from the royals, especially if she attends solo, but make a statement that she has every intention of reinserting herself back into the world of entertainment in a nod to her past life.”

Meghan’s new lifestyle series With Love, Meghan will see her welcoming famous pals to a Californian mansion. She’ll offer her top tips on crafting, gardening and cooking.
It’ll premiere on Netflix on March 4, with eight episodes dropping.

1. Phil’s mental health declines

Later, at Billy and Honey’s Sten-do, Sharon worries about Phil as she realises he organised the event but hasn’t even turned up.
Unaware that Phil is experiencing hallucinations, Sharon rounds up a search party in a bid to locate him.
2. Hallucinations take their toll on Phil
Sharon, Jay, Billy and Honey all try to track down Phil but have no luck. Phil then starts to experience psychosis symptoms of hallucinations and believes that he’s back in the 1985 version of the Mitchell family home.
During his hallucinations, Phil watches a key moment from his youth before speaking to a version of his younger self as well as key characters from his past.
But, can Phil get the support he so desperately needs?
3. Grant’s back
Sharon and Jay finally find Phil at No.55 but Phil rejects their help. He’s then surprised though when Nigel turns up with an unexpected guest – Grant Mitchell!
4. Sten-do chaos
Teddy works hard to pull off a successful Sten-do for Billy and Honey.
The celebrations start off great, but Phil’s disappearance soon throws a spanner in the works…
5. Sonia confronts Reiss
Sonia watches Bianca’s ‘confession’ video but Reiss tries to distract her.
Sonia’s soon falls unwell and heads to the hospital whilst Reiss rushes to the lock up. He hears that Sonia’s not well, heads home to check on her before leaving to return to the lock up once more…
Sonia prepares to delete the Bianca ‘confession’ video but soon gets stopped when making a troubling discovery. When Reiss returns home again, Sonia questions him over his whereabouts.
Things take a sinister turn though when Reiss starts to block Sonia’s exit as she goes to leave after confronting him… But, will she realise his true colours?
6. Priya and Ian team up
Cindy and Ian are at the centre of accusations as tensions within the family are high.
Priya and Ian have a drink together at The Vic and watch as Ravi, Cindy and Junior turn up. They then decide to team up…
Both Cindy and Kathy make sure that the cosy moment between Ian and Priya is short-lived though.
Priya later invites herself round to No.45 but heads off after being offended by Kathy. Ian then gets ready to follow her…
7. Chelsea and Penny make amends
Chelsea moves into No.27 but Denise tries to get her to backtrack. Penny’s furious that Jack’s letting Chelsea move in but she finally makes amends with her as puts all bad blood aside.
With Love, Meghan will also feature a range of guests. These include Meghan’s former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and actress Mindy Kaling.
With Love, Meghan premieres on Netflix on March 4.
