Meghan Markle shares new photo of kids Archie and Lilibet’s Invictus Games gifts

Meghan left Canada early to return to California to their children

Meghan Markle may have left Canada to reunite with her kids, but she’s still showing her support for Prince Harry and the Invictus Games.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram after returning home to California from the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.

In a new photo posted to her Instagram Stories, Meghan shared a glimpse inside the family’s Montecito home, revealing a selection of Canadian treats and souvenirs she brought back for her two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

The snapshot showed a bucket of fruit on the kitchen countertop, along with a view of the greenery outside. But it was the sweet surprises for Archie and Lilibet that most likely caught fans’ attention.

Among the treats were chocolates shaped like mountains and bear paws, Timbits – the mini doughnuts from Canadian chain Tim Hortons – and a special chocolate featuring the “I Am” Invictus Games logo.

Meghan captioned the snap: “A taste of Canada and the Invictus Games for our little ones! Cheering you on from home!”

But Archie and Lilibet weren’t just treated to Canadian sweet treats. They also received custom Invictus Games jerseys from Team Nigeria.

The matching green and yellow jerseys featured the children’s names on the back.

They were given to Harry and Meghan at a wheelchair basketball event on February 9 in Vancouver.

Team Nigeria’s manager, Derrick Cobbinah, told PEOPLE: “We did one for him, one for Meghan, and for the kids. She was very, very excited. They said they would be excited to have them.”

Prince Harry on Meghan’s support at Invictus Games: ‘I love that she’s by my side’

Before Meghan flew back to California, she and Harry shared several loved-up moments at the games, including kisses and holding hands at an NHL game between the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE recently, Prince Harry said:  “To have my wife here supporting me is amazing. I love that she’s by my side. It’s such an important piece to this whole adventure.”

A spectator at the games also commented on the strength of the couple’s relationship.

“There is a lot of speculation about them and their marriage, but this reinforces one thing to me at least – there is no separation,” they revealed to PEOPLE. “It looks like they present a united front when it comes to matters they both care about.”

Despite the couple’s strong bond, Meghan’s early departure from Canada sparked curiosity.

However, a source close to the Sussexes clarified the reason behind her decision.

“This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children,” they told HELLO. “This is Prince Harry’s event, and she is there to support him, but this was planned.”

Harry is expected to stay in Canada until the games’ closing ceremony on February 16 as part of his role as founder and patron of the Invictus Games.
