Monday’s edition of This Morning saw a guest awkwardly bring up former presenter Phillip during a chat with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

The guest in question was comedian Jack Whitehall – who was on the show to discuss fatherhood and his new tour.

However, his Phillip Schofield-related slip-up came during the cooking segment.  While tucking into a Shephard’s Pie, Jack confessed he’d never been invited to have some food on the show before.

What did Jack Whitehall say on This Morning today?

“‘I’ve never been fed before,” he said. “I got some caffeinated moisturiser from Holly and Phil once. And Vanessa Feltz sat on me on that sofa.”

Awkward!  To make things worse, Jack then swore while live on air.

While eating his pie, he spoke about his intolerance for spicy food.

“I had hot chicken in Nando’s once and my [bleep] was like the flag of Japan,” he then quipped.

His comment seemed to go over Alison Hammond’s head, however Dermot picked up on it, and gave the camera a look.

“He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious. His family came to the studio and they were so proud that he’d turned a childhood hobby into a career. We will miss him and send our condolences to his family,” they then added.

It has since been announced that Matty took his own life. According to a report in The Sun Matty had struggled with alcohol and the drug ketamine in the year before his death. He was discovered at home having hanged himself and police have revealed there was no third party involved.
