George Shelley was left heartbroken earlier this year after his younger sister Harriet tragically died aged 21 following a car accident.

But the former Union J singer has now revealed that Harriet’s organs have been used to save another life.

In an emotional post on social media George, 24, said it felt like an “honour” that his sister could save someone’s life.

The singer uploaded a photo of him, Harriet and brother Will as he told fans about the incredible news.

He wrote: “Every three minutes someone dies from heart or circulatory disease in the UK.

“My baby sister may not be with us in her Earth bound form anymore, but her heart still beats on, giving life to someone else whose heart was failing.

“What an honour. You had the biggest heart I have ever known. We love you miss you, always. #HeartForHeart.”

Harriet tragically lost her life in May this year after being involved in a horrific car accident in Bristol in April.

The young woman lost her life after suffering serious head injuries from the accident which happened on April 28.

She had walked out between two stationary vehicles after leaving a Stormzy gig.

She went into intensive care but unfortunately passed away on May 6.

A week after her death George expressed his heartbreak in an emotional tribute.

“I will never accept that you’re gone. You will always be with me. My best friend, my sister, my angel,” he wrote.

“Too pure and too beautiful to walk among humans, you now exist somewhere else, and I am honoured to have had the privilege to spend 21 years with you by my side. Don’t get used to it up there without me, I’ll see you soon beautiful girl. I love you Harriet.”

Back in July George shared a photo of a ring with Harriet’s initial on it saying he feels she is guiding him.

He said: “I’ll look at it and remember you for everything you were and adore you for everything you are now.

“One thing that the last year has taught me is to love everyone endlessly, have fun, embrace every minute of every day for what it is, good or bad, and be proud of yourself and the people around you for exactly who they are.

“There’s so many reasons as to why want to turn back time and make everything go back to how it was but I can’t, so I’m moving forward with forgiveness, letting go of the pain and living life knowing everyday you’re guiding me.

“Thank you to everyone who made my first birthday without H so special.”

George recently told The Sun that he’s had the worst year of his life but said “the love and support has been overflowing and it helps”.

He also said his boyfriend Matthew Holehouse has been “great and supportive”.
