Meghan McCain wants her supporters to know that her beloved father, Senator John McCain, is doing well.
The View star shared the important update to Twitter on Sunday, just a few days after John was hospitalized in the Washington, D.C. area. The politician's office said he needed some time to recover from his brain cancer treatments.
The official statement read: “Senator McCain is currently receiving treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center for normal side effects of his ongoing cancer therapy.
“As ever, he remains grateful to his physicians for their excellent care, and his friends and supporters for their encouragement and good wishes.”
As for how the celebrated veteran is doing now, Meghan tweeted: "Thank you to everyone for their kind words. My father is doing well and we are all looking forward to spending Christmas together in Arizona.
"If you’re feeling charitable this Christmas @HeadfortheCure or @NBTStweets to help find a cure for brain cancer is what I recommend. ."

The 33-year-old's new husband, Ben Domenech, also addressed John's health on Sunday.
Ben told Face The Nation: "I'm happy to say that he's doing well. He remains one of the toughest men on the face of the earth."
Of course, the senator's return home to Arizona means he won't be voting on the Republicans' historic tax bill next week. President Donald Trump confirmed the big news to the Associated Press, telling reporters: "They’ve headed back, but I understand he’ll come if we ever needed his help, which hopefully we won’t.
“He’s going through a very tough time, there’s no question about it.”
One can only imagine that Meghan is thrilled to be spending Christmas with her dad and that he's doing OK at the moment. The two are very close, and the conservative commentator has found it hard to cope with John's devastating diagnosis.
Most recently, Meghan broke down on The View while discussing John's health with former Vice President Joe Biden.
