No one ever said it was easy being a part of one of the reality television industry's most conservative families. Fans are pointing fingers at one daughter who they are convinced isn't playing by her parents' "rules."
Jinger Duggar is under scrutiny on social media by Counting On viewers who are convinced she is up to something of which Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar simply wouldn't approve.
Consider this: Jinger has been married for 11 month and is not yet pregnant.
If she were a member of any other family, this would not feel like news. After all, plenty of newlyweds wait to start a brood of their own.
But Duggars believe that contraception is prohibited. That means no birth control of any kind.
Joy-Anna Duggar, who married in May, is already expecting her first child with husband Austin Forsyth.
"We love children but we're just focused on getting settled into Texas and the ministry and living together. We'll see what happens," said Jeremy Vuolo in an interview.
Fans typically rally around Jinger and her "rebellious" behavior.
Sometimes the reality star even wears—gasp—pants!
For those unaware of the Duggar rule, the family doesn't believe in contraception because of an incident early on in Michelle and Jim Bob's relationship.
“As conservative Christians, we believe every life is sacred, even the life of the unborn," said the matriarch and patriarch of the family. "Due to our lack of knowledge, we destroyed the precious life of our unborn child. We prayed and studied the Bible and found a host of references that told us God considered children a gift, a blessing, and a reward.”
The Duggars still regret their decision for Michelle to go on birth control early on in their partnership.
“We had considered having another child an inconvenience during that busy time in our lives, and we had taken steps to prevent it from happening," they continued.
Jinger and Jeremy will celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary on November 4.
