Some celebrities are looking to expand their families exponentially, filling their homes with multiple children.
Kelly Clarkson is not someone one of those celebrities.
The American Idol winner, already the mother to two beautiful kids, opened up in a recent interview about being a parent. Apparently, she’s reached her limit.
“Oh God, those tubes are gone!” Kelly said during a KTU’s Cubby and Carolina in the Morning interview. “That’s blasphemy. We don’t even speak of it. We’re both fixed in our own ways, yet still we’ll probably get pregnant again somehow.”
Kelly gave birth to her son Remington just 17 months ago with husband Brandon Blackstock. They also have a daughter, 3-year-old River Rose.
Though the 35-year-old sympathizes with those who struggle to get pregnant altogether, her personal feelings are strong against ever having to carry a baby in her belly again.
"I always feel bad because I have friends who have a hard time getting pregnant and I'm just like guys, I have the worst pregnancies ever, it can't happen again!”
This isn’t the first time Kelly has openly referenced her lack of interest in growing her family any larger than it already is.
During an appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Show, the singer said that she realized during her second pregnancy that it’d be her last. In order to make sure of that, she insisted that Brandon go through with having a vasectomy.
"I was literally pregnant with Remi, and I was like, 'You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again,'” Kelly told Jenny McCarthy. "If something happens, it's a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, 'If I get pregnant again, I will find you!'"
Just because Kelly doesn't have heart set on more kids doesn't mean she's not a total mush when there's a baby in her presence.
During a visit to Today, Hoda Kotb introduced baby Haley Joy to Kelly and River. Audiences were able to see Kelly's heart melt before their eyes as she fawned over the morning host's adorable little girl.
Kelly may not want any more children of her own, but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy quality time with other people's kids!
